MAJOR AND MINOR PROPHETS ACCORDING TO BOOKS The arrangement found in current Bibles is roughly chronological. Also each book written contained; 1. Autobiography 2. Biography about the prophet, the original author 3. Oracles or speeches by the prophets, judgment oracles, messenger speeches, songs, hymns, narrative, lament, law, proverb, symbolic gesture, prayer, wisdom saying, and vision. It seems that an emphatic focus on Jerusalem and Judah was [also] a main concern. The difference between major and minor prophets is the differencein length of their books. The major prophets are much longer and fewer in number. Minor prophets are shorter in length and greater in number. (ranging from a single chapter to fourteen) There are five books from the major prophets. Combined, these books contain 183 chapters, with the longest composed of 66. *Isaiah* , the longest along with *Jeramiah, Lamentations, Daniel and Ezekiel,* makeup the major pro...

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO GROW OR BE MATURED IN CHRIST? INTRODUCTION People understand the concept of growth in the physical development of humans, and we know why it is important. Babies are immature physically and mentally, but we expect them to develop, If they don't, there is a problem. Spiritual growth is a similar concept but is far more important. Growth is development or improvement toward a goal called "maturity" (biblical concept). When one is "born again" as a child of God, he is spiritually immature. As time passes, he/she should develop the qualities or abilities which the Bible says characterize the mature. Ephesians 4:14,15 - Be no longer children, but grow up in Christ. 2 Peter 3:18 - but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 2 Thessalonians 1:3 - The Thessalonians grew exceedingly in faith. Philippians 1:9 - Paul prayed for their love to abound more and more. Many problems result when members fail to ...

Is There Any Significance Of The Number Forty (40) In The Bible? What does the number forty (40) mean in the Bible? What’s the significance of that number? Forty Days and Forty Nights When I think of the number 40, my first thoughts turn to the flood. When God judged sinful mankind and spared only Noah and his family, “rain fell upon the earth forty days and forty nights” (Gen 7:12) and so the 40 days are seen as a judgment of God. Why 40 days? It was when “The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the Lord regretted that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart” (Gen 6:5-6) “So the Lord said, “I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, man and animals and creeping things and birds of the heavens, for I am sorry that I have made them” (Gen 6:7). In this case, the number 40 seems to be associated with the judgment ...

PITFALLS TO ABRAHAM AND HIS DESCENDANTS 1. ABRAHAM a. He lied that his wife Sarah, was his sister, because she was fair and beautiful. Genesis 12:11-19, Genesis 12:11 And it came to pass, when he was come near to enter into Egypt, that he said unto Sarai his wife, Behold now, I know that thou art a fair woman to look upon: 12:12 Therefore it shall come to pass, when the Egyptians shall see thee, that they shall say, This is his wife: and they will kill me, but they will save thee alive. 12:13 Say, I pray thee, thou art my sister: that it may be well with me for thy sake; and my soul shall live because of thee. 12:18 And Pharaoh called Abram, and said, What is this that thou hast done unto me? why didst thou not tell me that she was thy wife? 12:19 Why saidst thou, She is my sister? so I might have taken her to me to wife: now therefore behold thy wife, take her, and go thy way. b. WHO IS AN EARTHLY MINDED PERSON? A non beleiver or a Christian whose mind and heart are always focus on the things of the flesh/World. For jealousy and selfishness are not God’s kind of wisdom. Such things are earthly, unspiritual, and demonic. So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world. James 3:15, Colossian 3:5 NLT CHARACTERISTICS OF A EARTHLY MINDED PERSON 1. Always walks by the Flesh and exhibits His fruits. Galatians 5:19-21 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things...

Lack of Foundation = Lack of Discernment 2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; KJV If I placed a bowl of poison in front of you and said, "Eat this," would you eat it? Of course not. Why? Because you know that it's poison. Do you know what the Bible is teaching here? The Bible is teaching that in the last of the last days, there is going to be such a lack of foundation that people won't know enough of the Word to discern what's good and what's bad. Theref...

WHO IS A HEAVENLY MINDED PERSON? A Christian whose mind and heart are always focus on the things of God. Until you become a believer, you cannot be a heavenly minded person, because, they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. Galatians 5:24 Colossians 3:1-2 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. Meaning that if you are not in Christ Jesus (a Christian, someone who has accepted Christ), all your mind and heart are on the things of the world. CHARACTERISTICS OF A HEAVENLY MINDED PERSON 1. Always walks by the Spirit of God and exhibits His fruits. Galatians 5:22-25 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If...

WOMEN AND THEIR MINISTRY Ministry: A profession and service of a religious minister / person. Or the period of service of a religious minister / person. Do women even have ministry? Proverbs 31:10-30 The ministry if a woman or the ways in which women minsterare many, but I have classify them into two (2). 1. PHYSICAL MINSTRY A.MINISTRY TO THE FAMILYl (Proverbs 31:15, 21-22) She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens. She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet. She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple. 1. Husband (Proverbs 31:11,23, 1 Corinthians 7:4a) The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land. 1 Corinthians 7:4 The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the h...

The Nature of God and the old and new Testaments. In the essence of the nature of god, He is eternal which indicates that He is alive forevermore. Through diverse forms, living object express themselves and do so convincingly (in the light of scripture). Speech or ability to communicate is a feature of God. In the Old Testament, expressions such as “thou saith the Lord” and “give heed to my instructions” abound more among the patriarchs and the prophets (and some kings and other characters) to indicate that God speaks. In the New Testament, we notice references and quotations from the Old Testament to affirm what God spoke under the dispensation of the Patriarch, the law, the Prophets and in the psalms. Jesus made some of these references as well as the disciples and Paul. The author of Hebrews gives a portrait of Old Testament worship with a New Testament outlook. (Aps. Dr. Stephen Kofi Baidoo)

BE PREPARED IN AND OUT OF SEASON 2 Timothy 4:2 . Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage —with great patience and careful instruction. NIV The English dictionary: To take the necessary action to put something in to a state where it is fit for use or action or for a particular event/purpose. The parable of the 10 Virgins (Matthew 25:1-13) The parable of the unprepared servant (Luke 12:35-40) The coming of the Son of man is unknow (Matthew 24:36-44, 21:34, Mark 12:2, Luke 20:10, 12:40) Why should we prepare in and out of season? 1. So that we can stand in the last days. 2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; Because God loves you so much that He can't afford to loose you, He wants you to be prepared before that time comes. 2 Timothy 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilo...

Paul's advice to Teachers and preachers "Remove All Hindrances" 1 Timothy 4:6 - 8 "If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained. But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness. For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come." "The gift of God doesn't just spring ...

Test every spirit; What Leads People Into Deception? The primary thing that leads people into deception is a desire for superior revelation. In New Testament times, a group called the Gnostics was invading the Church. The word Gnostic means "to know." They claimed superior knowledge, special revelation, or new light beyond anyone else—including Paul himself, (before he became Paul). They were misleading and beguiling many people away into false doctrine. Today the New Age Movement is claiming to bring light to the world. They even talk about "the Christ," but they're n...

I am the WORD of God John 1:1,14 [1]In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. [14]So the Word became human and made his home among us... The word that God spoke (Genesis 1:3 downwards) during creation, He said "Let there be......." Joshua 1:8 says "This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night......" Psalms 1:2 also says, But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. We reareadd from Deuteronomy 11:18 Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes. 11:19 And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. 11:20 And thou shalt write...

MARRIAGE Genesis 2:18,21-25 [18]Then the lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him.” [21]So the lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep. While the man slept, the lord God took out one of the man’s ribs and closed up the opening. [22]Then the lord God made a woman from the rib, and he brought her to the man. [23]“At last!” the man exclaimed. “This one is bone from my bone, and flesh from my flesh! She will be called ‘woman,’ because she was taken from ‘man.’” [24]This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one. [25]Now the man and his wife were both naked, but they felt no shame. NLT How do you know whether the person you have found is the one God wants for you? One of the primary ways to find out the mind of God concerning you choice is by what we call "Sensing of the spirit" or discernment. Yo...
