MAJOR AND MINOR PROPHETS ACCORDING TO BOOKS The arrangement found  in current Bibles is roughly chronological. Also each book written contained; 1.  Autobiography 2.  Biography about the prophet, the original author 3.  Oracles or  speeches by the prophets, judgment oracles,  messenger speeches, songs, hymns, narrative, lament, law, proverb, symbolic gesture, prayer, wisdom saying, and vision. It seems that  an  emphatic focus  on Jerusalem and Judah was [also] a main concern. The difference between major and minor prophets is the differencein length of their books. The major prophets are much longer and fewer in number. Minor prophets are shorter in length and greater in number. (ranging from a single chapter to fourteen) There are five books from the major prophets. WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO GROW OR BE MATURED IN CHRIST? INTRODUCTION People understand the concept of growth in the physical development of humans, and we know why it is important. Babies are immature physically and mentally, but we expect them to develop, If they don't, there is a problem. Spiritual growth is a similar concept but is far more important. Growth is development or improvement toward a goal called "maturity" (biblical concept). When one is "born again" as a child of God, he is spiritually immature. As time passes, he/she should develop the qualities or abilities which the Bible says characterize the mature. Ephesians 4:14,15 - Be no longer children, but grow up in Christ. 2 Peter 3:18 - but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 2 Thessalonians 1:3 - The Thessalonians grew exceedingly in faith. Is There Any Significance Of The Number Forty (40) In The Bible? What does the number forty (40) mean in the Bible? What’s the significance of that number? Forty Days and Forty Nights When I think of the number 40, my first thoughts turn to the flood.  When God judged sinful mankind and spared only Noah and his family, “rain fell upon the earth forty days and forty nights” (Gen 7:12) and so the 40 days are seen as a judgment of God.  Why 40 days?  It was when “The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.  And the Lord regretted that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart” (Gen 6:5-6) “So the Lord said, “I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, man and animals and creeping things and birds of the heavens, for I am sorry that I have made them” (Gen 6:7).
